Airtel prepaid plans price increased by 25 percent

Airtel prepaid plans will be increased by 25 percent soon, According to a spokesperson of Airtel India, “this was needed to provide a reasonable return on capital that allows for a financially healthy business model”. Airtel’s Rs 79 base tariff plan will be now available at a 25 percent hiked price. If you compare the recently increased tariff plan with Vodafone-idea and Reliance Jio’s tariff plan, the tariff plans are more costly than its competitor. Airtel’s unlimited voice tariff bundles increased by 20 percent. Airtel New prepaid plans 

After the price increase of Airtel, other telecom service providers like Jio and Vodafone-idea may increase their tariff plan in near future. Following the price hike, Airtel’s base plan now starts from Rs 99, up from Rs 79. The price of the most expensive Rs 2498 plan has now increased to Rs 2999.

Airtel has hiked 25 % of its base plan and the bundle’s plan will get a 205 hike. It seems that the company will push its customer to do a recharge with the bundle plans. The tariff price hike will help the Telecomm giant to achieve the average revenue per user (ARPU) mark to Rs 200.

The new Airtel tariff plans will be applicable starting from 26th November 2021. So, users have four more days to recharge their phones with existing plans before the prices hike later this week. Also read: Apple adds Gaana, JioSaavn music streaming services to its HomePod mini in India.

Conclusion 

Airtel prepaid plans are expensive now as compared to other operators, and the company keeps the second position in the telecom market in India with 202 million active users.  The company may use this fund for acquiring 5G spectrum and deploying Airtel 5G networks in India.
