Apple Watch Series 7 does not support fast charging in India | Apple Watch Series 7 Indian price

Apple Watch Series 7 the latest smartwatch from the California based tech giant will not support fast charging functionality in the Indian market even with the right cable.

The smartphone maker is shipping a proprietary Magnetic Charger to USB-C Cable without the fast charging option with the Series 7 in India. Apple also confirmed this news on its support page. In its support page, published on 15th October 2021, Apple mentioned that, “fast charging functionality on its Apple Watch Series 7 is not available in Argentina, India, or Vietnam.” The Company has not mentioned any reason for this.

The company also claims that,the Series 7 can charge “up to 33 percent faster” if you compare it with the Series 6 smartwatch. Series 7 smartwatch can charge from 0-80 percent in about 45 minutes.

For the same reason, the Series 7 will ship with a fast USB Type-C charging connector— Magnetic Fast Charger to USB-C Cable—in the box. Users will still need an Apple USB-C power adapter—rated 18W and above—or third-party USB-C power adapter with USB-PD—rated 5W or greater—to make full use of the fast-charging feature.

Apple sold Magnetic Fast Charger to USB-C Cable separately for Rs 2,900, interestingly it is the same as the standard cable.

Apple makes confusion by listing its magnetic type-c watch charger in India, because either the series 7 watch in India or its predecessor series Apple watch is not supported fast charging option. Report says that Apple may activate the fast charging option in future and will sell fast chargers separately.

As per the Financial Express Online report, “Fast charging is currently not supported on the Series 7 in India at all, even with the right cable”. Apple put hardware limitations that prevent fast Charging options. As per the companies track record, Apple is not putting any restrictions in their features unless of course there are some regulatory reasons.
