How to download vaccination certificate from CO-Win Portal

How to download vaccination certificate is now important for all Indians. The co-win portal is the registration portal for the coronavirus vaccination program.  Indians must be registered on this portal for getting a vaccination. In this article, I cover How to download a vaccination certificate, add passport detail to a vaccination certificate, and correct the name in the vaccination certificate. After login through your mobile number, you will provide your name, photo id document number, gender, and birth year. When you complete your registration you will get a registration confirmation message on your mobile number.

 

Now, you need to schedule your vaccination date, time, and place after scheduling your vaccination date, time, and place you should go to the vaccination center for your shots. A provisional certificate for the first dose will be available in your registered account after getting the first dose. 

After getting your first shots you wait for the next 28 days to 42 days for another booster dose for Covaxin. If you take Covishield you should be waiting for seven weeks to 12 weeks for the second shot. You will get a final certificate for vaccination after taking the second dose of the covid vaccine.

 

How to Download Vaccination Certificate

You will follow these two steps to download the final Vaccination Certificate.

Step 1

Login to the Cowin portal (i.e  www.cowin.gov.in ) with your registered mobile number.

Step 2

For downloading the final certificate, Click on the Certificate option which is placed right side of your name. You can download vaccine certificate now.

How to add passport detail to vaccination certificate

You should follow these simple steps for adding passport details to your vaccination certificate or add your vaccination details to your passport. 

Step 1

Login to the Cowin portal with your registered mobile number.

Step 2

On the top right corner, you will found a raise an Issue option, click on this option. After clicking on it you slide to another page where you get “Add Passport details to my vaccination Certificate for traveling abroad”.

Step 3

Click on this you will slide to another page where you see the passport details option. Now click on the select member option and select the person’s name. After selecting a beneficiary name you enter the beneficiary’s passport number, after entering the correct passport number click the tick mark on the consent box and again click on submit request option.

Now, your passport details are added with vaccination details or vice versa. Please note that you can add the correct passport number once per beneficiary if you enter incorrect details you can not make changes to the passport details again.

How to correct name in vaccination certificate

You should follow these simple steps for correction of your name, date of birth, gender, and identification document number.

Step 1

Login to the Cowin portal with your registered mobile number.

Step 2

On the top right corner, you will found a raise an Issue option, click on this option. After clicking on it you slide to another page where you get this option  “ Correction in my certificate regarding Name /Age/Gender/ Photo ID”.

Step 3

Click on this and you slide to another page. Now select a member and click on view certificate. Now you get details of the beneficiary. You can change or edit here the Name /Age/Gender and, Photo ID of a beneficiary.

 

Click on the change option placed right of the name option and enter your correct name and click on the continue option. On the “ information to change “ page, you check your correct name and then click on the submit request.

 

Now a message is shown to you that “ your request has been submitted successfully and is being processed”. It will take a maximum of 24 hours to change but sometimes it changes instantly. You can crosscheck your certificate about the changes you have made.

You can download the vaccination certificate by following the above steps. You can also add passport detail to vaccination certificate and correct your name in vaccination certificate.

Note that if you make any changes do it carefully, you have one chance to make your certificate correct. You can not change your data again once you submitted your request.
