54 Chinese Application Banned in India

India Government banned another fifty-four (54) Chinese apps which are a threat to the National security of India. These 54 Chinese apps include some popular beauty filter apps. Those apps are Sweet Selfie HD, Beauty Camera – Selfie Camera, Equalizer & Bass Booster, CamCard for SalesForce Ent, Isoland 2: Ashes of Time Lite, Viva Video Editor, Tencent Xriver, Onmyoji Chess, Onmyoji Arena, AppLock, and Dual Space Lite. You may remember, in the previous year, the Indian Government banned the popular short video application TikTok, WeChat messenger, and 57 other Chinese mobile applications on dated 29th June 2021. Indian internal security department issued an order to the internet service provider to block those apps. This order came after the clash with Chinese and Indian soldiers at Galwan Valley in Eastern Ladakh.

In September 2021, the Indian government banned the popular gaming application PUBG as known as PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds for security reasons, and in 2022 government put a ban on another popular game Garena Free Fire for the same reason. Now, Indian streaming players are worried about this.

Relating to this, later in September Indian government blocked another 118 Chinese mobile apps over concerns that they were collecting user data and sending it to their China server, and later they misused stored data. Trusted news reporting channel ANI also reported about the Chinese application ban and share this news on its Twitter handle.

Wrapping up

These 54 banned applications are millions of download in Google play store and those apps are comes from the parent company like Ltd.’s, Tencent, and AliExpress. Many apps are rebranded which are banned in 2020. It said this action was taken based on the inputs regarding these apps for engaging in activities that are prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, defence of India, security of the state, and public order. As per the latest report above applications are removed from the Google play store but pre-installed applications are may run perfectly for while.
