What do you mean by Instagram Subscriptions?

Instagram is the most popular photo-sharing social media App in the world. Recently this social media app listing in iOS App Store indicates that the company will introduce a monthly Instagram subscription plan function that allows users to pay Rs.89/- for the interaction with creators.  Instagram pushes Instagram Video Selfies for Identity Verification to its new users.

According to Instagram’s iOS App Store listings, this new Instagram subscription function will allow Creators, artists, and influencers to earn money through the app. According to Instagram CEO Adam Mossier, they are working on a monthly subscription feature which is to increase their business revenue. On the other hand, the company also testing another feature called  ” Take a Break”, which will be helpful for its users.

Monthly Instagram Subscriptions Plan

According to popular blog TechCrunch, “the Instagram App Store listing now features a new “Instagram Subscriptions” category under the “In-App Purchases” section. As of now, Instagram Subscriptions are priced at Rs 89 per month, but the prices may be changed after the full rollout of the subscription service. Users can buy a subscription or gift through super chat during live sessions.

The first “Instagram Subscriptions” in-app purchase was added to Sensor Tower’s US App Store listing on 1st November for $4.99 (INR 371.51 Approx.). After a couple of days, on 3rd November, the $0.99 (INR 73.71 Approx.) in-app purchase was added.

Instagram Special Member Badge 

As per the report, users who will purchase Instagram Subscriptions will get a special membership badge that will be visible next to their username. Creators will give priority to their members when they directly message or even post a comment on any content of creators. Creators can track their earnings, active members, and expired membership.

Instagram Subscriptions Rate

This subscription service may be named “Twitter Blue”. Instagram subscription prices vary from $0.99 to $4.99. This social media giant hasn’t been disclosed yet its roadmap for subscription plans. Company CEO Adam Mossier was said in creators submit that, they will introduce three types of creator monetization tools for the platform.

He also added that “those three types of subscriptions will be One was commerce, which included things like branded content, merchandise, and affiliate marketing. The second was advertising revenue share. And a third was payment products, including direct payments like tips and badges as well as “gated content or subscriptions”.

CEO Mosseri said that “I love those because those give creators a direct relationship with their fans which I think is probably more sustainable and more predictable over the long run”. As you know apart from Instagram, other social media like Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, Twitter, Snapchat and etc have also similar subscription plans for users.

Earlier, YouTube added the “Join” option in its app for the monthly subscription and introduce a “Super chat” facility for live streaming. Twitter also introduced a subscription platform for creators called “Super Follows”  in September. Other social media platforms are similar subscription plans with different names.

Instagram Take a Break Feature

On the other hand, Instagram has started testing a new feature called ‘Take a Break’, that allows its users to opt-in for in-app break reminders. Take a Break feature encourages its users to take a break from Instagram after a certain amount of time, Users can set a take a break reminder for 10 minutes, 20 minutes or 30 minutes.

Instagram Subscription plan is definitely profitable for creators and after the mass rollout of service, we will be able to know the exact monthly subscription plan rate. Its parent company Meta brand value will be increase after the subscription plan launch.
