OnePlus Nord 2 5G review

Today Oneplus launched its most awaited OnePlus Nord 2 5G. This phone is a successor of the OnePlus Nord which was launch in 2020. After one year gap, this Chinese brand again bring a newer 5G variant of its Nord series and called it OnePlus Nord 2 5G. OnePlus again use the Amazon platform for selling its smartphone.  Nord 2 5G  Amazing Specifications makes it a tough competitor in the mobile market.

OnePlus Nord 2 5G Body and Dimensions 

OnePlus Nord 2 5G comes with a metallic frame with a curved 6.43 inch Full HD + AMOLED display with a 90Hz screen refresh rate and back glass design. Both the back glass and front screen are protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 5. One side Volume Up and Down switch, power lock and unlock key, and OnePlus’s favorite alert key.

It has a type -C (2.1) connector and a stereo speaker facility. On the bottom side, it has a  dual speaker grill. On the backside, This phone has a punch-hole display. On the backside, OnePlus placed a square-size triple camera setup on the top right corner. A multicolor LED light aligns with the camera module.

It has a dual stereo speaker, noise cancellation mic, and a dual hybrid sim port. The body to screen ratio of this phone is 20:9. It is available in four colours one is Gray Sierra, the second colour is Red, the third colour is Greenwoods and the fourth is Blue Haze colour.

OnePlus Nord 2 5G Display

OnePlus Nord 2 5G has a 6.43-inch curved fluid AMOLED display with a resolution of 2400 x 1080p and 410 pixels per inch (PPI). It comes with a 20:9 screen to body ratio display. The fluidness of the screen is superb.

 

This 6.43-inch display is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 5. Corning Gorilla Glass 5 is a tough glass but glass is always glass and glass may be broken. For security, It has an in-display fingerprint sensor that is accurate and fast.

OnePlus Nord 2 5G Processor

This time OnePlus join hands with MediaTek and power the OnePlus Nord 2 5G smartphone.It has a  MediaTek SoC. This phone comes with MediaTek Dimensity 1200 AI SoC and it is a customized version of the existing MediaTek Dimensity 1200 processor and it supports a few 5G bands.

MediaTek Dimensity 1200 processor for mid-range smartphones. MediaTek Dimensity 1200 5G is developed with 6nm architecture.

Mediatek claimed that  “The octa-core Dimensity 1200 features one of the fastest smartphone CPUs ever: the 3GHz Arm Cortex-A78 provides the most immediate response, with up to 22% faster CPU performance while also being 25% more power-efficient versus the previous generation”.

Multi-tasking on this phone is very impressive. It supports seven numbers of 5G bands and supports Dual 5G.

OnePlus Nord 2 5G RAM and Storage

OnePlus Nord 2 5G comes with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage and 12 GB of RAM, and 256 GB of storage. It supports UFS 3.1 storage capacity. Its supports LPDDR4X RAM, because this processor does not support LPDDR5 RAM.

OnePlus Nord 2 5G Camera

In the camera section OnePlus add a triple camera setup. OnePlus Nord 2 5G has a 50 Megapixel Sony IMX766 camera sensor with OIS support, an 8 Megapixel wide-angle camera, and a 2 Megapixel macro sensor. On the front side, it has a Single-camera setup. it has a  32 Megapixel Sony IMX 615 sensor on front.

Its 50 MP rear camera can record a video on a resolution of [email protected], [email protected]/60, and Its 32 Megapixel front camera can record video on a resolution of [email protected], [email protected]/60. It supports Dual video, Nightscape Ultra, Group shot 2.0, slow-mo, AI video and photo enhancement, Dual-view video, and much more.

OnePlus Nord 2 Oxygen OS

First time OnePlus and Oppo developed a combined OS for OnePlus Nord 2 5G. This oxygen OS is developed on a shared codebase of Oppo’s colorOS. OnePlus Nord 2 5G  runs on Oxygen OS 11.3 and Google android 11.

As per the company due to the new OS customers will get fast OS and security patch updates. OnePlus promises to deliver 2 years of the major Software update and 3 years of Security updates on this phone.

OnePlus Nord 2 5G has a 4500 mAh of non-removable battery. For fast charging, it has dual cell technology. It supports 65-watt fast charging. It supports Super VOOC 2.0 charging technology. Company claims it run a day with 15 minutes of charge.

It will be available on the Amazon India website on 26th July 2021 (Early Access) and goes open sale on 28th July 2021 in India.
